Two men looking for beer tried to rob a Fastrip convenience store on South Union Street Monday night.

Police said one man was physically held down by the clerk until the other man took out a knife and told the clerk to let him go. The two men then ran to a waiting car and drove off.

According to police, a witness followed the robbers to the 2900 block of Gary Place. When police arrived at the home they released a K-9 unit, which bit a 14-year-old boy who was hiding under a blanket in one of the bedrooms.

The boy was not in involved in the robbery but suffered a cut across his forehead, puncture wound below his right eyebrow and other small lacerations, police said.

He was taken to Kern Medical Center.

Police said two men were arrested in connection with the incident.
