BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A recorded phone conversation is providing many new details about a Garces High School teacher's alleged relationship with a student.

Marshall Neal apparently told the girl to lie about what had happeded between them, not realizing the conversation was being recorded by police.

Neal has been charged with two felony counts of oral copulation with a person under the age of 18.

He is on administrative leave and out of jail on 100,000 bond after he was arrested in mid-December of 2007.

The conversations were recorded between Neal and the victim on Dec. 20.

In recorded phone conversations, Neal said:

“If we just say that we kissed, that\we made out and we just kind of held\and caressed each other, then that's\not statutory rape. And that saves me\from a hell of a lot of trouble."

“Tell the cops that it was just kisses and no oral.\Don't admit oral. If you can get away\with just telling them that, it saves me\Because at the point that we had\sexual contact, that makes the crime much greater."
