Teacher Accused Of Making Meth Pleads Not Guilty

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A Shafter High School teacher accused of making methamphetamine in a school lab pleaded not guilty on Friday.Jeff Scheidemantel is facing two felony charges related to making meth.Police said Scheidemantel bought red phosphorus online, which is the key ingredient to making meth.
When police searched his home, they said they also found guns, recipes to make meth and other related chemicals.The former teacher is free on $40,000 bail.He'll be in court again in March.
