Russian CSUB Swimmer Died From Heart Disease

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- After forensic studies, the Kern County Coroner has determined that Russian swimmer Alexy Belyy, 26, died from heart disease and hardening of the arteries.The coroner determined Belyy’s condition as hyper-trophic and artero-sclerotic cardiovascular disease.Belyy collapsed after a swim practice in January.
According to the New England Journal of Medicine, most sudden deaths in young athletes are due to heart disease.
