Report: Local Soldier Kills Two Soldiers, Kidnaps Baby

Female Soldier Reported To Be Involved In Love Triangle

A Bakersfield soldier is accused of killing a husband and wife, dumping acid on the bodies and kidnapping the couple's baby.

The killings happened in Tacoma, Wash., over the weekend. KOMO television in Seattle reported that Ivette Gonzales Davila, from Bakersfield, was stationed at Fort Lewis.

Investigators are calling the deaths part of a love triangle.

Davila is accused of killing two fellow soldiers and is said to have thought one of the victims was romantically involved with her ex-boyfriend.

According to a statement of probable cause, Davila allegedly confessed to another soldier that she went to the couple's home and shot them.

Davila's former Bakersfield neighbors are shocked and said the murders would be out of character for her.

“Every time I saw her at her house right here next door, she was really calm,” said Preston Gant, a former neighbor of Davila’s. He added that when he saw her she was “just on her computer or watching TV. Just a normal person.”

After the killings, Davila allegedly went to a hardware store, bought acid and poured it over the two bodies in a bathtub to try to dispose of the bodies.

KOMO also reported that the couple's 7-month-old baby was found with Davila.

Davila has not been charged and is being held in the Pierce County Jail in Washington.
