Man Sets Lamont Post Office On Fire, Police Say

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Letters in Lamont may have a singed smell after someone tried to set the Post Office on fire, police said.Kern County sheriff's deputies were called out at 7:30 p.m. Monday to reports of an assault.When they arrived they found flames instead.
Crews were able to knock down the fire quickly, with only minor smoke and flame damage.Deputies arrested a man on arson charges. They found him in the back of the building.
