BPD Motorcycle Officer Injured

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A Bakersfield Police Department motorcycle officer is recovering Friday after he was injured while riding to a crime scene.Police said Officer Bill Toler responded to reports of a burglary at West High School when he hit a median while making a U-turn at Ming Avenue and Valhalla Street.Toler was thrown from his motorcycle.
Paramedics rushed him to Kern Medical Center with moderate injuries. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. The burglers got away.
