BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Some special leading ladies from Kern County were honored on Friday.

Assemblywoman Nicole Parra was the host at the Third Annual Garden Tea Party Awards presentation.

Parra presented awards to nine women who have been recognized for their community efforts and achievements.

Awardees were nominated by recommendations from the previous year’s winners.
