CHP Task Force Combats Rising Auto Thefts

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Bakersfield has one of the highest rates of car thefts in the central valley, while the number of thefts are also quickly rising, according to the California Highway Patrol.In an effort to combat this alarming trend, the CHP has started the Kern County Task Force.Officers hope to reduce the number of vehicle theft crimes through educating the public and media communications.
The Task Force was started in 2007.
