BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Police Department is looking for the suspect said to have shot and injured a man on South H Street Sunday morning.

Officers were called to Memorial Hospital Sunday morning, where they found 19-year-old Jerry Hastings with a gunshot wound on the right side of his chest.

Police said their investigation revealed that someone shot Hastings while he was walking on South H Street, south of Panama Lane.

They said they’re still looking for witnesses.
