Man Dies After House Fire
Found In Bathroom, Man Suffered Smoke Inhalation

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A man died in a southeast Bakersfield house fire Tuesday morning, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.At 6:48 a.m. fire crews responded to a house fire. Upon arriving at a residence at 806 East Belle Terrace they reported heavy smoke.Crews said they entered the home and discovered two rooms engulfed in flames. They said they got the fire under control within five minutes.
After a search of the home, crews said they found a Arthur Montenegro Gonzales in the bathroom. They said emergency treatment was started on a 60-year-old male who was in critical condition.The man later died from smoke inhalation at Kern Medical Center, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.Arson investigators determined the fire to be accidental. Damages were estimated at $45,000.
