Officials: Drug Use Blamed For House Fire

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Illegal drug use was to blame for an early morning fire in southeast Bakersfield, according to fire officials.Just before 7 a.m. in the 1700 block of Lewis Street, fire officials said they observed heavy smoke coming out of a bedroom window.They said a woman and disabled man were in the home at the time.
Both got out with no injuries.The woman was arrested on charges of parole violation and reckless endangerment.
