Big West Refinery Has Ammonia Leak

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Kern County officials are looking into an ammonia leak at the Big West Refinery over the weekend.Big West officials said a small amount of ammonia leaked early Sunday morning.The refinery said the leak was contained quickly.
Environmental health officials are investigating the cause of the leak and will look into whether Big West reported the incident to authorities in a timely manner.
