BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Supporters of Proposition 98 will meet at the Liberty Bell to sound off on property rights abuses.Proposition 98 limits the use of eminent domain and prohibits local government from condemning private property for private use. It also prohibits rent control.
Organizers of Thursday morning's rally, including high school trustee Ken Mettler, said a “yes” vote will guarantee that property owners won't have their land seized by the state.
