TEHACHAPI, Calif. -- The historic Tehachapi Train Depot went up in flames Thursday night, causing $1 million worth of damage.

When fire crews arrived just after 3 a.m., the depot was fully engulfed in flames. They got it out in about an hour.

The depot was under renovation and stores were set to open up shop at the location.

Fire officials said the historic loss to the community cannot be measured.
