Two Bakersfield Residents Killed In Coalinga Wreck

Coroner's officials in Fresno said two Bakersfield residents were killed in a wreck Monday night.

Police said Scott Duke, 39, and his passenger Eugene Hernandez, 23, were in a 2008 Volvo that slammed into the back of a dump truck in Coalinga, ABC23 reported.

According to authorities it took more than four hours to cut the car free from the truck.

Coroner's officials said the victims died instantly upon impact.

The truck driver was not injured.
