Illegal Firework Users Will Get $1,500 Fines

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Kern county firefighters warn those who plan on setting off illegal fireworks that they will be fined.The Kern County Fire Department announced the Fireworks Task Force will start their maximum enforcement period for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.The team consists of fire department and sheriff’s deputies. They will be on the streets looking for illegal fireworks and legal fireworks that have been modified.
Last year the task force gave out 100 citations. Those cited will be fined $1,500.
