POSTED: 11:57 am PDT June 27, 2008
UPDATED: 4:22 pm PDT June 27, 2008

Friday morning the Kern County Fire Department was supposed to test new Lake Isabella sirens that could warn people of an impending dam break.

The first of the sirens was installed in April. Since then, crews have added several more along with new signs.

Friday’s test was supposed to last about 30 minutes. The test was not done due to technical problems.

Officials said the problems should be of no concern to the public.
