BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A chance encounter in a Bakersfield bank led a class ring, missing for 15 years, getting back to its rightful owner.Bryon Greiss lost his Clovis High School 1993 class ring 15 years ago.It was found by the father of Wells Fargo Manager Janice Blackburn at the Red Lion Inn. He held on to it hoping one day to find its owner.
Recently Greiss walked into the bank and Blackburn recognized his name from the engraving on the ring.“I kept thinking, how am I gonna start this conversation?” said Blackburn. “It can’t be this easy. This cant just possibly be the man -- when I start talking to him, he's gonna think I’m nuts.” “I didn’t even know where I lost it,” said Bryon Greiss who now lives in Bakersfield. “I lost it my senior year. We were here for the valley tournament championship here in Bako.”More than 100 miles from his alma mater and 15 years later, Greiss has the class ring and blackburn has fulfilled a personal promise her father once made.
