Man, 88, Family, Without AC During Heat Wave

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Life is miserable for people who don't have air conditioning during the latest triple-digit heat wave.Saundra Friedberg lives with her 88-year-old father-in-law, her husband who needs kidney dialysis three days a week and her adopted five-year-old daughter who undergoes chemotherapy once a week.Her air conditioner broke down several days ago. A repairman said it was improperly installed while the original installer, All Climate Air, stands by their work.
It may not get fixed for some time, leaving Friedberg a little hot under the collar.The family said they may move into a hotel in the coming days.A repairman said it could cost thousands of dollars to replace because he said it was installed improperly.
