Police were continuing to look for an Earlimart man who they say may have escaped to Mexico after the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy during a robbery attempt at the boy's home.

Henry Cryder died from a single large-caliber bullet wound on Sunday, Tulare County deputies said.

A second person, Kenneth Williams, 38, of Pixley, also was shot during the robbery. He was taken to the Delano Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released on Monday, said Kathie Wright, a hospital spokeswoman.

Authorities said Angel Lopez Medrano, 26, and three accomplices went to Cryder's home and shot Cryder and Williams after Medrano had an argument with Cryder. Medrano then drove off with his alleged accomplices to Bakersfield, authorities said.

Deputies said Medrano forced one of the men, Alberto Perez, 19, and Perez's brother at gunpoint to drive him to Tijuana, Mexico.

U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service officers stopped the vehicle as it crossed back into California. Medrano is thought to be in Mexico, deputies said.

Perez, 19, of Bakersfield, was booked on suspicion of murder, being an accessory to murder and attempted armed robbery, said Lt. Donna Perry, Tulare County sheriff's spokeswoman.

Two 17-year-old Earlimart boys accused of being Medrano's accomplices were booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of murder and being accessories to murder. They are being held without bail.
