BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Three southwest Bakersfield schools are on lockdown after police said there was a shooting on Belle Terrace.West High School, Curran Middle School and Munsey Elementary are on lockdown after a shooting occurred at about 1 p.m. at Howard's Mini Market, ABC23 reported.One man was shot while sitting in his car at the market, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. Investigators said the man apparently got into a verbal confrontation with another man prior to the shooting.
Police are still looking for the gunman.Authorities said there is no indication that anyone at the schools was affected by the shooting.Schools in the vicinity of shootings are routinely locked down as a precaution, ABC23 reported.
