BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The two teens pleaded not guilty in Superior Court Tuesday to the murder of Joseph and Dorothy Parrott.

Kyle Hoffman, 17, and his nephew Luis Palafox, 16, are being tried as adults for allegedly breaking into the Parrott's home, stabbing and bludgeoning them to death back in August.

The teen's families quickly left the courtroom once the boys were escorted away. In tears, they declined to talk to the media.

Outside the courtroom the Parrott family waited. They said they found out about the arraignment too late, so by the time they got to the courtroom it was too full and they were not let in.

Hoffman and Palafox face two counts of each murder in the first degree. The judge set no bail. They will be back in court Dec. 10 and 11.
