BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Keshawn Black, 21, was driving west on California Avenue with his brother Charles on Sunday.

As they passed the intersection of P Street at California Avenue, an unknown vehicle fired into the driver's side.

Police said that the bullets entered the car door and struck Black in the torso.

Charles was able to take the car westbound on California Avenue and stopped at Chester Avenue.

When police arrived they found black suffering from a single gunshot. He was taken to Kern Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
