POSTED: 4:57 pm PST January 5, 2009

At about 2:30 p.m. Monday, deputies were dispatched to the 3400 block of Edison Highway, regarding a fight involving several subjects armed with baseball bats and knives, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies discovered an injured adult female suffering from stab wounds and had also been struck with a baseball bat, the KCSO reported.

The female was transported to Kern Medical Center where she is being treated for her injuries.

Two suspects, Debra Gannon, 43, and a 16-year-old were identified and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies were unable to locate a possible second victim, an adult white male, who fled prior to their arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
