Judge Wants Second Opinion For Accused Animal Hoarder

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Wednesday a judge ordered that a second opinion would be made for Cynthia Gudger for her ability to stand trial.Gudger also exclaimed that she wanted a second opinion for her competency.During Gudger's competency hearing on Jan. 8, the hearing was postponed because the doctors were unable to complete her psychological evaluation.
Gudger, was arrested in July 2008 after animal control found more than 50 dogs and cats in her Tehachapi home.While awaiting her original arraignment, Gudger skipped town, authorities reported.After her arrest, authorities discovered 20 cats, including one dead in the freezer of her Oxnard Motel room.Gudger is due back in court March 11, 2009.Previous Stories
