The California Highway Patrol said Saturday that two people died after the vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road, overturned and landed on its roof in a cement drainage culvert in Lake Isabella. The CHP said 45-year-old Sheryl Muncy was driving her 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse eastbound on Highway 178 and exited onto SR 155 when she left the roadway for unknown reasons. The CHP said she and 34-year-old John Michael Romick were found at about 4 a.m. Saturday. The CHP has not yet confirmed whether the accident happened overnight. CHP says both victims are from the Bodfish area. It appears three people were in the vehicle. CHP says one victim was airlifted to Kern Medical Center and the other two victims died at the scene. ABC23 News will bring you more details as soon as they become available.
