13 Arrested In Burglary, Stolen Vehicle Operation

2 Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 5, various units of the Bakersfield Police Department along with members of the Kern County Auto Theft Task Force and two additional officers from the local office of the California Highway Patrol conducted another proactive patrol operation targeting areas of the City of Bakersfield where there has been a recent increase in the number of daytime residential burglaries, vehicle burglaries and auto thefts.

The purpose of the operation was to apprehend those individuals responsible for committing these types of crimes and to prevent additional ones.

The operation involved 12 two officer teams who were assigned to patrol the Southern, Central, and Northeast area of Bakersfield; as well as the Oildale area.

As a result of the operation, officers arrested:
  • Edgar Gonzales Jr., 22, was stopped in the 2500 block of White Lane and arrested on charges of being in possession of a reported stolen vehicle.
  • Mario Alberto Gutierrez, 32, was contacted in the north alley, 600 block of Espee, and arrested on charges of outstanding felony warrant for methamphetamine possession.
  • Francisco Javier Roman, 23, was contacted in the 1000 block of Q Street and arrested on charges of being in possession of brass knuckles and for violation of parole.
  • Angel Ramirez Hortegoza, 48, was contacted in the 600 block of Knotts Street and arrested on charges of possession of Heroin and associated paraphernalia.
  • Inosencio Lopez, 25, was contacted in the 2100 block of Monterey Street and arrested on charges of an outstanding parole violation warrant.
  • Jonathan Henry Daugherty, 41, was contacted in the 300 block of Oildale Drive and arrested on charges of an outstanding parole violation warrant.

The following subjects were arrested on outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
  • Frank Thomas Morris, 21.
  • Eduardo Rodriguez, 29.
  • Kevin Torrez Ordonez, 22.
  • Lucinda Duran-Navarez, 28.
  • Samuel Gonzalez Fernandez, 41.
  • Steve Allen Tucker, 32.
  • Corey Orlando Woodard, 33.

The following subjects were arrested on outstanding misdemeanor warrants and released per citation. They were identified as:
  • Jarrod Nicholas Story, 33.
  • Alfonso Garcia Ortiz, 42.

Officers located and recovered two unoccupied stolen vehicles. One of the vehicles recovered had been stolen earlier in the day during a carjacking incident reported to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. Officers plan on doing similar operations in the future.
