Oil Refinery Fire in Tupman Allowed to Burn Out

TUPMAN, Calif. -- A building at a Tupman oil refinery caught fire Wednesday night but no one was hurt.The fire sent smoke about 100 feet in the air.The Inergy Services Plant on Tupman Road was shut down immediately to keep the fire from spreading.
The plant makes liquid petroleum gas, which is highly flammable.Firefighters rushed to the scene just before 7pm to monitor the situation, but they let the product burn off on its own.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
