2 Women Convicted Of Animal Cruelty

Women Face Up To 10 Years In Prison

POSTED: 12:16 pm PDT May 19, 2009

A jury has convicted two kern county women on numerous counts of felony animal cruelty.

Cynthia Bemis and Cynthia Trapani face up to 10 years in prison for hoarding and neglecting dozens of dogs at a Mojave compound.

Prosecutors said Bemis had moved dogs in and out of there for years.

Previously, 93 dogs were seized in L.A., and there is still an animal cruelty case pending against Bemis in San Bernardino County.

Charges of assaulting an officer against Trapani were dismissed and she was convicted of resisting arrest.
