Local Athlete To Go To World Wrestling Championships

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- View Release ---- Local Athlete To Go To World Wrestling ChampionshipsThe U.S. freestyle team is led by 2008 World University champion Tervel Dlagnev, who recently won a big tournament in Azerbaijan. 2008 World University bronze medalist Jake Herbert also is on the freestyle team.Herbert won the 2009 Hodge Trophy as the nationals top college wrestler after winning his second NCAA title.
The U.S. freestyle team also includes NCAA champions Trent Paulson, Dustin Schlatter and Jake Varner.World bronze medalist Tatiana Padilla, Olympian Ali Bernard, World University champ Elena Pirozhkova and Junior World champion Adeline Gray join Chun on the women’s team.In Greco-Roman, two-time World bronze medalist Harry Lester made his fourth straight World Team.
