Updated: 2010 H1N1 Vaccine Clinics

The Kern County Department of Public Health announced that they have updated the H1N1 Flu vaccine clinics.

Matt Constantine states, “We are pleased that this supply has arrived. Because it did just arrive, we will finalize our emergency plans for distribution as quickly as possible. All sectors of Kern County will eventually receive the vaccine.”

First plans for distribution include hosting H1N1 Flu Vaccine Clinics at the following locations:

McFarland Room 9 of the Browning Road School - 410 East Perkins, McFarland, CA Monday March 15 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Dr. Claudia Jonah, Kern County Health Officer, adds, “We are now making available the H1N1 Flu vaccine to the general public. However, we would like to remind everyone that the target groups for H1N1 remain:

Children 6 months to 24 years ;(10-24 years first & only dose needed and 9 years or younger first or second dose.) • Pregnant Women;
• Caregivers of children 6 months of age and younger;
• Persons with Underlying Health Conditions 25 years to 64 years;
• Healthcare Workers and Emergency Medical Workers.”

The public is invited to visit Public Health’s Web site, http://www.co.kern.ca.us/health/ or call 1-877-81VIRUS for updates on clinics and H1N1 distribution efforts.
