BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Kern County Department of Public Health announced Wednesday the distribution of 9,970 doses of the H1N1 vaccine to local medical providers.This distribution marks the first opportunity that several local medical providers have had access to the H1N1 vaccine for their patients. Only those doctors, medical providers, and hospitals that applied for the H1N1 vaccine will receive the doses.Due to a state mandate, it does not allow the KCDPH to release the names of the medical providers who received the vaccine. The public is encouraged to contact their medical provider to see if they applied and or received their allotment of the H1N1 vaccine.
Public Health continues to coordinate H1N1 clinics throughout Kern County targeted at these priority groups: • Children 6 months to 24 years;
• Pregnant Women;
• Caregivers of children 6 months of age and younger;
• Persons with Underlying Health Conditions 24 years to 64 years;
• Healthcare Workers.
