Motorcycle Officer Slams Into Pickup, Breaks Arm

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- An early morning crash involving a Bakersfield police motorcycle has sent an officer to the hospital.The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Friday, on Olive Drive.The CHP said traffic was backed up, so cars in two lanes of traffic had stopped and were allowing a blue pickup truck to turn left into a business.
That's when Officer Ronnie Dulan, a 9 year veteran, on his motorcycle was passing the stopped traffic and crashed into the pickup truck, the CHP reported.Dulan suffered a broken arm and scrapes to his face, but he doesn’t appear to have any other injuries, the CHP said.The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
