National Adoption Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Friday was a joyous day for foster kids and parents across the nation and right here in Bakersfield families and those who want to adopt came together to celebrate the 7th annual adoption day.Families were honored for helping to bring happiness to the lives of former foster kids along with presentations by Mayor Harvey Hall and Judge John Brownlee who himself was a foster child.After the ceremony, kids and parents were treated to a fun-filled carnival.
Family members say the adoption process has changed their life forever.This year there were 57 kids in Kern County that were adopted, but organizers say there are hundreds still looking for forever families.For more information visit, National Adoption Awareness Month 2009 or visit, www.nationaladoptionday.org.
