BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A man was found dead in his East Bakersfield home Saturday morning and now police are investigating as to how and why.

Augie Senoran, 43, was found by his girlfriend around 5 a.m. Saturday suffering traumatic injuries to his face and head.

Senoran was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

The girlfriend had returned home after visiting friends to find her fiance in his bedroom.

In an official release the Bakersfield Police Department says he suffered fatal traumatic injury, although earlier Saturday ABC 23 was told he died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The exact cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

The BPD has no suspect information or motive for the incident, which is being investigated as a homicide.
