Organizers of the Bakersfield Business Conference announced today that “America’s mayor” and 2008 presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will address the Business Conference on October 9, 2010. Organizers also announced that negotiator Herb Cohen and entrepreneur Wally Amos will speak at the event.

Conference organizers have previously announced that the 2010 speaker lineup will include 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Vice President Dick Cheney, former Second Lady Lynne Cheney, former First Lady Laura Bush, academy-award-winning actress Goldie Hawn, Olympian and theater star Cathy Rigby, award-winning journalist Eleanor Clift, Democratic strategist Bob Beckel, Republican strategist, Karl Rove, grammy-award-winning musician Ronnie Milsap, conservative commentator Cal Thomas, liberal commentator Donna Brazile, and impressionist Rich Little. Conference organizers will continue to announce the names of speakers confirmed to address the 2010 Conference in weeks to come.

  • Conference organizer George F. Martin explains the selection of Rudy Giuliani, Herb Cohen, and Wally Amos:

"Rudy Giuliani earned the title "America’s Mayor" when he demonstrated what it means to be a decisive and resolute leader in the wake of the 9-11 attacks. Most of our lineup in 2010 will be addressing the Conference for the first time, but we’ve decided to bring Rudy back not only because his previous speech on leadership to our Conference earned an extended standing ovation, but also because his example will prove inspirational to business leaders who may also be struggling to lead their organizations through difficult times in a less than ideal economic environment."

“Herb Cohen teaches negotiation skills like no one else does. After listening to Herb, our attendees will not only understand the proper mindset to bring to the negotiating table, they’ll also have a smile on their face. I expect that Herb Cohen will be one of our attendee’s favorite speakers in 2010."

“Wally Amos worked his way up from the mailroom at William Morris Agency to become their first African-American talent agent. He’d later lead William Morris’ “rock and roll” division during the birth of that musical genre. Long before Famous Amos cookies, he represented Simon & Garfunkel, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cooke. He’s a natural entrepreneur whose talents as a speaker and storyteller will captivate our attendees.”

The Bakersfield Business Conference is one of the nation's premiere platform speaking events. Over the years, the Conference has built a loyal following with its playful and patriotic ambiance and its presentation of politically-savvy entertainers alongside top business leaders, sports heroes, leading journalists, Nobel Prize winners, and veteran political figures.

Tickets to the 2010 Conference are available as part of a special “Early Eagle” ticket package that lasts until March 1st when all seats will go on sale at $425 each.
