  • Former Body Builder Beaten To Death In Front Of Own Home

The former body building champion, Patrick Matsuda, 40, was attacked by numerous people in the street, police said.

The attacker, according to police, followed Matsuda from the original confrontation scene to a yard where the attack continued and at one point involved a baseball bat.

Matsuda's wife called 911 around 2:30 a.m. to report the attack.

When officers arrived they said they found Matsuda in the yard suffering from multiple injuries. He later died at Kern Medical Center.

A neighbor said that Matsuda was trying to tell another neighbor to quiet down a party that was going on.

The attackers, according to police, fled the scene in separate vehicles.

It is unknown at this time what led to the physical altercation or if it was gang related.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department.
