Inmate Escapes Taft Correctional Institution

TAFT, Calif. -- The authorities need the community’s help in finding an inmate who walked away from the Taft Correctional Institution Satellite Camp on Sunday.Staff said they noticed Omar Paniagua Zaragoza, 33, of Delano was missing during an official count.Taft Correctional Institution In The News

Since it's a minimum security facility, with no fence, officials said Zaragoza most likely just walked away.Zaragosa was serving a 180 month sentence for drug trafficking and wasn't scheduled to be released until June 2017.Zaragosa is described as white. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.If you see him -- you're asked to contact any law enforcement agency.
