5 Arrested In Connection With Bust

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, detectives from the Bakersfield Police Department Vice / Narcotics Division, along with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and HIDTA, executed a search warrant at 1601 South Union Avenue.

Police said they found a marijuana cultivation operation was located inside.

A total of 1,161 marijuana plants, with a street value of $4,644,000, 54.8 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $219,200 and 15 gallons of hashish oil, with a street value of $96,000, were located.

Four suspects were taken into custody.

They were identified as, Dustin York, 32, of Thousand Oaks
Joseph Taylor, 50, of Thousand Oaks
Jeremy Dunn, 18, of Thousand Oaks
Mark McGrath, 48, of Bakersfield.

As a result of this investigation three search warrants were served in Ventura County.

A fifth suspect identified as Joseph Nolan, 54, of Oak Park was located and arrested during the serving of these search warrants.

All five suspects were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, cultivation of marijuana, manufacturing or preparing a controlled substance and conspiracy

They were all booked into the Kern County Jail.
