BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- No parent should bury their child, but that's what Diane Sanchez was forced to do several years ago after her son was killed."I feel a heaviness in my heart that I couldn't explain to you. I can't believe someone would do something to him as tragic as they did it,"said Diane.Frank Sanchez Jr. was killed in his home on Century drive in March 2007. A relative discovered his body after no one had heard from him in several days. He was shot three times in the head.
"Someone took my son when he wasn't ready to go," said Diane.Frank Jr. left behind a son, who until this day cannot bring himself to speak of his father's slaying. But it's not only his death that haunts Diane, but his memory. He was described as a loving person who was well liked."That day when the news broke that my son was murdered, my house was full of so many people I didn't even know. I was numb how much people he knew," Diane said.Despite all the people he knew, no one seems to know who killed him."He was willing to help everybody and no one seems to want to help him now that he's gone," said Diane.Bakersfield police says there are no leads in the case. That's why Diane is asking anyone who remembers or knows anything to step forward. Meanwhile she has this message to the killer, "You didn't get away with murder of my son. They're still working on it and they'll work for it. You will be found," said Diane.Anyone with information on Frank Sanchez Jr.'s killing is urged to call BPD at 327-7111. You can remain anonymous.
