15-Year-Old Turns Himself In

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A 15-year-old boy turned himself in Tuesday evening and the Bakersfield Police Department is currently searching for one more person wanted in connection with the shooting of a woman on Monday afternoon.Around 4 p.m. on Monday, Bakersfield police said Abbie Bernardez, 20, was standing among a group of people in the 400 block of Bill Avenue when she was shot in the back by a man armed with a hand gun, Sgt. Mary DeGeare said.An investigation revealed that the shooter fired a handgun at the group multiple times from the area of T Street and Bill Street, striking only Bernardez, DeGeare reported.

Woman Found Shot In Back 2 Teens Wanted On Attempted Murder Charges The shooter then entered a green Hyundai Elantra that was being driven by another man, and they both fled.The Elantra was found, wrecked and abandoned, at Texas and Liggett streets within minutes of the shooting, DeGeare said.The two men have since been identified as Kai Walter Williams, 19, and Treyontae Hogg, 15.Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Treyontae Hogg surrendered himself to the Bakersfield Police Department. He was placed into Juvenile Hall on charges of attempted murder and participation in a criminal street gang.Kai Walter Williams is still outstanding.
