2010 Kern County Science Fair Competitors

POSTED: 10:32 am PDT March 18, 2010
UPDATED: 11:05 am PDT March 18, 2010

Approximately 600 students in grades 4-12 from 114 schools will have their projects displayed and judged, knowing that a category finish of first or second place can make them eligible for the 59th annual California Science Fair to be held May 17-18 at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Judging will concentrate on scientific thought/engineering goals, creativity, organization, completeness, clarity, effort and motivation. Students have to explain their displays, log books and hypothesis to a panel of judges.

The science fair is administered by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Founding sponsor Aera Energy LLC, as well as Chevron North America Exploration and Production, Occidental of Elk Hills and the Kern County Science Foundation make the event possible.
