13-Year-Old Accused Of Bringing Ammunition To School
Student Possessed Live .22 caliber Ammunition At School

LAMONT, Calif. -- The Kern County Sheriff's Department said that a 13-year-old brought 41 rounds of ammunition to Sunset School Friday morning.On the morning of Friday, deputies said a school bus driver located one live .22 caliber round of ammunition in a school bus after he dropped off elementary and junior high school students at Sunset School in the Lamont area.Deputies from the Lamont Substation and officials from Sunset School conducted an investigation and discovered that the student took 41 rounds of live .22 caliber ammunition to school that morning, deputies said.
Deputies said no firearms were located during the investigation.The student was booked into Kern County Juvenile Hall on charges of possessing ammunition on school grounds.
