Central Valley Representative Jim Costa was considered one of the "Blue Dog democrats" President Obama and Hhouse Speaker Nancy Pelosi were trying to get on their side.

Costa said he waited until now to make his decision because he wanted to see the language in the actual bill.

He said now that he has read the bill and consulted constituent groups and health care professionals, he's satisfied the bill will take life and death decisions away from the insurance companies and protect patient rights.

He says he believes health care reform will ensure patients receive essential treatment without the fear of bankruptcy.

Central Valley representatives Jerry McNerney of Pleasanton and Dennis Cardoza of Atwater agree with Costa, and also announced on Saturday they'll vote to approve the bill.

Meanwhile, For local Congressman Kevin McCarthy the vote is simple... No.

McCarthy says the plan will cut medicare by $500 billion, and raise taxes by $550 billion, mainly on small businesses. Not to mention, the proposal would make up 16% of the nation's economy.
