Abandoned Dog Found Hog-Tied

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Kern County Animal Control Officers are currently investigating an animal cruelty case and are asking for the community's help.Kern County Animal Control received a call around 8:15 a.m. Thursday, regarding an abandoned dog on Adobe Road, between Sandrini Road and Teale Road.The responding Animal Control officer was horrified to find a dog in a muddy field with its mouth and legs bound. The animal was unable to move and suffered injuries due to the abuse.
If you have any information that would assist in finding the people involved, you are encouraged to contact KCAC at 661-868-7102 immediately.The dog is now under the care of the KCAC's medical team and is resting comfortably at the KCAC shelter. The shelter is currently contacting local rescues to assist in long term care for this animal.If you believe an animal is in trouble, please contact the Animal Control office at 661-868-7100.
