Man Accused Of Hog-Tying Pit Bull Arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Kern County Animal Control Officers have made an arrest for animal cruelty charges after the discovery of a bound pit bull on April 22, director Guy Shaw said.Around 8:15 a.m. on April 22, KCAC officers said they received a call regarding an abandoned dog on Adobe Road, between Sandrini Road and Teale Road.Related

The responding Animal Control officer said they were horrified to find a dog in a muddy field with its mouth and legs bound. The animal was unable to move and suffered injuries due to the abuse, they said.James Worley, 52, was arrested on charges of felony animal cruelty.Animal Control Officers began their investigation Monday morning and by early afternoon, Shaw said that they had gathered enough evidence to support the arrest of Worley.
