Cooling Center Locations In Kern County

Cooling Centers To Open During Extreme Valley Temperatures

The Cooling Centers Daily Report will be issued by 11:00 a.m. on the day before the Centers open. Weekend Cooling Center openings will be released by 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

Residents using the Cooling Centers are encouraged to bring their favorite non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, reading material, games, etc. to better enjoy the Centers.

Cooling Centers in the San Joaquin and Kern River Valleys will open when temperatures are forecasted to reach 105 degrees or higher.

Centers in the mountain communities of Frazier Park and Tehachapi will open when temperatures are predicted to reach 95 degrees, and centers in the desert region will open when temperatures are forecast to reach 108 degrees or above.
