BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Environmental Health Division is releasing the following list of locations in Kern County that may have received recalled Wright County Shell Eggs.

The list is a combination of the list provided by California Department of Public Health and field work done by Kern Environmental Health Division.

As of 2:30 p.m. Friday, Environmental Health Division Inspectors have visited all locations on this list to guarantee that the lots in question have been pulled and destroyed.

All locations had taken proactive measures to ensure the public’s safety and no recalled eggs were found on the shelves. As the recall is expanded the investigation will be ongoing.

If you have purchased eggs from any of the locations, you are encouraged to check the lot numbers and return them to the store for a refund or destroy them.

“When in doubt, throw them out,” Director Matt Constantine advises, “your health is worth more than a few dollars.”

To prevent illness, consumers are advised to cook eggs thoroughly before eating to destroy any Salmonella or other bacteria.

People who develop symptoms of Salmonella infection after consuming Wright County Eggs should consult their health care provider.

Eggs affected by this recall were distributed to food wholesalers, distribution centers and foodservice companies in California, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.
