Water Balloon Fight Doesn't Break Record
Record Attempt Serves as BHS Band Fundraiser

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- It was an event hyped for weeks in Bakersfield, from news stories to electronic billboards.Saturday night at six o'clock thousands unleashed their water balloons in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record.Participants paid five dollars for two balloons, unfortunately not enough people participated to break the record.
The current world record was set back in july at Brigham Young University in Utah, where 3,903 people took part in the water balloon fight.Saturday at Yokuts Park in the southwest, just 2,332 people participated leaving organizers well shy of their goal.But, event organizers says they will try again.Money raised at the water balloon fight and carnival went to the BHS marching band.
